Tropical weather can bring either joy or misery to your skin, there’s no in between. Luckily, I’ve been blessed by having the most sensitive, driest skin ever. *wiping my tears from my coconut-oily face*
Acne is a common skin problem that affects people of all ages, especially during summer; your skin will start acting out like a kid in a candy store.
I've stumbled upon 10 homemade acne tips, and masks, that I'm going to share with all of you simply because they worked –like magic- on my face.

Honestly, I’m the laziest person EVER when it comes to going to the supermercado to buy unnecessary ingredients. Therefore, all these ingredients were found in my kitchen –and probably in yours too- you’re welcome!
1. Baking Soda:

Baking soda or Sodium Bicarbonate works as an exfoliation for your skin; it unplugs the pores and removes dead skin;

Apply a paste of one or two teaspoons of baking soda and a little water. Rinse it off after a FEW minutes.
You can use baking soda on your skin once or twice a week.
2. Lemon

Lemon will clean out dirt that has accumulated in the pores. You can use it on your skin daily but if it is too drying then use it every three days.
Rub a slice of lemon on the affected area and leave it for a few hours before rinsing your face with water.
3. Toothpaste

The toothpaste that you use regularly to clean your teeth can also help clear up an acne problem.
Apply a small amount of white toothpaste on the affected area before going to bed. The toothpaste will reduce the swelling and dry out the acne.
4. Orange Peel
You can use the juice from the orange as well as its peel, but the peel can be more effective.
Put orange peel in the sun and let it completely dry out.

Grind the dried peel into a powder then add water to make a paste.
Apply the paste to the affected area and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes. Then wash your face.

5. Garlic
The sulfur in garlic promotes quick healing of pimples, and removes the dead skin from your face.

Cut fresh garlic into two pieces.
Rub the garlic on the pimples and leave it for five minutes before washing the skin with water.
You can repeat the treatment several times a day.
6. Honey

Honey is a source of natural antibiotics that can speed up the healing process, as well as help prevent infections.
Dip a clean cotton swab in honey, put it directly on the affected area and leave it on for half an hour.
Wash the skin well with water.
7. Moisturize with Coconut Oil

Coconut oil penetrates deeply into the pores, nourishing and moisturizing from within.
Before going to sleep, simply apply coconut oil on your face, and massage with it, then wash it off in the morning.
Do this daily to make your skin soft and smooth.
8. Cleanse with Milk

It also helps keep the skin moisturized and enhances skin complexion.
To use milk as a cleanser, dip a cotton pad in raw milk and DAB it on your face.
Leave it on for 5 to 15 minutes, and then rinse your face with water.
9. Pamper Your Skin with Rose Water

Rose water works as the best toner for sensitive skin.
Before going to bed, spray some rose water on your face and massage gently.
It also works as a natural makeup remover.
10. Turmeric Masks :
A/ Turmeric and Coconut Oil Mask

In combination with turmeric, this makes a highly efficient and moisturizing mask for acne and pimples.
Mix the two ingredients thoroughly until you get a smooth blend.
Leave the mask on for 15 to 20 minutes; then wash it off with water.
B/ Turmeric and Honey Mask

This mask is especially recommended for those with sensitive skin:
Pour 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder in a mixing bowl.
Add 2 tablespoons of honey as well.
Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse off using water.
C/ Turmeric and Lemon Mask

Make sure you don’t go out into the sunlight after applying this mask, as the lemon juice bleaches your skin making it more vulnerable to sunlight.
Take 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder in a mixing bowl.
Add 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice as well.
Leave it on for about 10 to 15 minutes and then rinse it off.
P.S : Don’t be scared when your face turns yellow. You’ll be the Yellow Hulk for a couple of hours; it will fade away with time.

Enjoy taking Golden hour selfies!
Até mais gente má!
