We know from countless experiences that living alone is -sometimes- a pain in the ass, especially if we need to do all the hard work on our own *tears dropping down my laptop*

It's always nice to find clever solutions to the little snags one comes across in cooking, building, cleaning, or just about anything.

Here are some of the most clever life hacks every human being needs to know:

1/ If you're stuck without electricity, and can't find a candle or flashlight, use a crayon:

Light the crayon paper and it will burn for up to 20 minutes.

2/ If you're running late for your date, use a straightening iron on the visible wrinkles:

*No one will notice shuuuush*

3/ Pull off the tab of a Coca Cola can, use it to connect two hangers together. This trick saves tons of closet space:

(Not a Coca Cola ad)

4/ No Toothpaste? No problem:

Roll the end of the tube towards the opening, squeezing the toothpaste forward, and then secure it with a binder clip.

5/ Bye bye Boil-Over:

Just like Harry Potter's wooden stick. Place a wooden spoon across the boiling pot to keep it from boiling over.

6 / "and I will try to fix youuuu" - ColdPlay:

Chris Martin was definitely singing about a zipper and some pants in this song.

- Attach a small key ring to your zipper

- Zip your pants up and loop the key ring over the button of your jeans

- The zipper will stay hooked in place.

7/ Use Duct tape to secure the bracelet while you try to put it on:

Or use your overly-attached girlfriend; it’s the same thing anyway.

8/ Don't throw your lotion bottle! Charge your phone with it:

At the risk of sound cliché, I completely adore the idea of creating a phone charging station out of an empty lotion bottle cut in half.

9/ Tissue boxes can keep plastic bags organized:

Done crying over a lame Soap Opera? Don't throw the tissue boxes away, use them to keep plastic bags organized!

10/ Use nail polish to differentiate your keys:

Unless, you're color blind…

11/ Don't throw your “swiffer” socks away, I REPEAT don't throw them away! Abort the mission:

Who doesn't want to save some money anyway?

7) You & your IMAGINARY friend want to use the microwave at the same time? No problem!

Level up boi!

8) You wanna throw a party but you're too poor to buy speakers? Não tem problema meu amor! Try this:

(Or if you're too lazy for this DIY try to put your phone in a drinking glass or a bowl to boost the volume of its speakers)

9) Remember for all presentations:

10) Clear nail polish will keep your buttons from falling off:

11) Use Post-it notes to clean your keyboard:

12) Small kitchen? Cutting boards and drawers work wonders:

“Call it magic, when I’m with you” – Chris Martin to his drawer.

13) If you're traveling, hide emergency money in a Chopstick tube, or in an empty lotion bottle:

14) Never waste THE Nutella:

Warm milk, or ice cream, there’s no in between.

15) Bad-smelling shoes? Wet shoes? SO SO WHAT?

If you have bad-smelling shoes, place a few tea bags inside each shoe to absorb the smell.

If your shoes are not just smelly but also wet, fill them with a mixture of rice and baking soda and leave for a few days.

SUMMER BONUS:

Do you want to sneak Vodka in a Festival or in a cruise?

Vodka + food coloring = Let the magic begin.

- Pour Vodka in an empty Blue Listerine bottle,

- Add 3 drops of blue food coloring, and 1 drop of green.

(If you have a green Listerine bottle add 2 drops of green coloring)

Summer BONUS N#2 :

In case you're going to have a one night stand, please make sure to put a small amount of concealer and foundation in contact cases. It is more practical than having to carry your whole makeup set in your bag.

You'll never know who you're going to end up with. Always bring your A game homegirl.

(This article was inspired by my sister, who went camping in I-sincerely-don't-know-where in Chicago and had a beautiful experience with mosquitoes. Cheers sista you're my hero!)
